HAINZELIN Etienne

Voir le résumé
Etienne Hainzelin comes back to the striking evolutions of the agricultural systems for hundred years, particularly in the rich countries. Today, this is an intensified agriculture, based on the supply of fertilizers and pesticides, and on the use of the 'elite' varieties. This transformation, which affected as the landscapes as the functioning of the human societies, also supported the progressive emergence of questionings about the compatibility between the high-yield agriculture and the preservation of ecosystems. Mot(s) clés libre(s) : biodiversity, intensive agriculture, ecosystems

Etienne Hainzelin proposes an overview of the main steps of the agriculture evolution since the Neolithic. He shows the current importance of this activity, from a socioeconomic point of view. He also evidences the extreme specialization of the human populations, who get 90% of their calories from only 30 species. Mot(s) clés libre(s) : agriculture, biodiversity, farmers

Pierre-Henri Gouyon comes back to different looks taken at nature and biodiversity during the last centuries. He insists on the fact that this biodiversity can't be reduced to a frozen group of species, but that we have to consider its dynamic and complex dimensions when we mention its preservation. He illustrates his words with the example of agriculture. Mot(s) clés libre(s) : agriculture, classification, biodiversity, dynamics

Pierre-Henri Gouyon proposes a definition of the biodiversity. He relies on the diagram that Darwin published in 1859, in The Origin of Species. He insists on the dynamic balances of this biodiversity, underlining the importance of the divergence and extinction processes. Marion Gosselin proposes a focus on the dead wood, which is an essential component of the forests. The linked biodiversity, the saproxylic species, indeed represents 25% of the forest biodiversity. On the basis of an understanding of its functioning and of its benefits, she highlights a real preservation issue linked to this dead wood. Marion Gosselin proposes an overview of the ecological dynamics of the forest environments, alose named ecological successions. She presents their principal steps, from the pioneer stages to the mature ones, focusing on their respective biodiversities. To finish, she draws a parallel between those natural evolutions and the current strategies of forest management. Mot(s) clés libre(s) : biodiversity, forest, ecological succession, silviculture

Through the study of the life classifications variety, Richard Dumez evidences the diversity of the views of the nature. Scientific classification, popular or vernacular classifications, he indicates the operations on which all those approaches are based. He illustrates this with the example of the Aka Pygmy and the Inuits. Mot(s) clés libre(s) : classification, biodiversity, nature

Elise Demeulenaere proposes an analysis framework to better understand the variety of nature and biodiversity appropriation modes. She gives several examples underlining this diversity: the biodiversity appropriation in a post-Rio context, and the tension related to the agricultural orientations and the GMO.
